Watch out for Copperheads!

Last year, we killed three on our driveway.  Myrna just used a shovel on #1 for this year.  Now, these are poisonous snakes.  As I understand it, they're not like to kill you.  But they sure will put you in a state of hurt, if you get bit.  They are also not very agressive snakes. Which means if you don't bother them, they're not going to come looking for you.

But stepping on one in your driveway at night is a bad way to meet each other, and not likely to end well for either of you.  Dogs and children, in particular, sometimes don't stop to think that following their first impulse may not be a good idea. So do keep an eye out, especially in the evening, so you can avoid any that happen by.
